DAWN ON ST. PETER’S DOME
A brand new day is shining bright, Two thousand years in sacred light. The City of our Lord on high, Descending to where mortals sigh.
For all who come and those who depart, Saint Peter’s Square embraces every heart. Along the Way of Conciliation, We meet our God and His creation.
Two outstretched arms in love descend, The Father’s grace that knows no end. Embracing the prodigal child's return, And the elder brother, slow to learn. (Lk 15)
From five continents and oceans deep, From bitter grief where captives weep, From weary prisons, dark and cold, "Come and see!"—let all behold! (Jn 1:46)
Or if your heart is filled with peace, And joyful blessings never cease, To bear your witness, stand up tall, "Come and see!"—He invites us all! (Jn 1:46)
